Reminders

Tution Meeting

In order to avoid a tuition increase for the 2010/2011 school year, please remember to send in your $400 registration fee per child. Early registration allows you to confirm your child's space and guarentees you a lower tuition rate based on the 2009/2010 rate.

ALL PARENTS ARE URGES TO ATTEND THIS IMPORTANT MEETING TO CLARIFY ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS

On Thursday, May 6th a meeting will be held in the all-purpose room at 6:30 p.m.  The thrust of the program will be devoted to a discussion and question and answer session regarding pertinent changes in tuition collection during the 2010-2011 academic year.  Representatives from the bank managing the process of automatic tuition collection will be available to answer questions and concerns as well as explain the procedures they will utilize.

As you will recall, you recently received correspondence outlining the changes pertaining to the issues of tuition.  Mandatory involvement in the program is one question that will be answered during this session.

Big Time

Mark your calendars. The Big Time is scheduled for July 20th through July 25th. This annual celebration dates back to 1883 and is a wonderful way to support OLMC. More information regarding concession assignments will be forthcoming.

Seasonal Uniforms

Starting April 19th, children may begin wearing their seasonal uniforms on an optional basis. The seasonal uniform must be as follows:

  • White Polo Shirt with Emblem
  • Tan(Khaki) Shorts-Knee Length
  • Plain White Sneakers
  • White Crew Socks (covering the ankle)

Uniforms must be purchased from the Army and Navy Store located in Nazareth.

SCRIP NEWS

The Scrip Program will be available up to and including May 13, 2010.  Concluding the program on May 13th will allow the parent volunteers sufficient time to calculate the tuition reimbursement due to each participating family prior to the end of May.

In addition a limited number of gift cards for grocery stores such as Mr. Z’s, Giant and Shoprite will be available during the summer months.  The cards will be available at the school office.  We deeply appreciate your participation and support regarding the Scrip Program.

End of Year Obligations

With less than thirty five (35) days of school remaining, parents are reminded that all obligations must be satisfied prior to the beginning of the final exam period.  Teachers will begin to administer the exams following the Memorial Day holiday. The failure to address your obligations (library books, outstanding tuition payments and bills etc.) will prevent your child from taking final exams and participating in the end-of-year ceremonies.  We thank you for making this a priority.

Box Top Collection

box tops for education

A “thank you’ is extended to all the students, grandparents, parents, relatives and friends who contributed to the “Box Tops for Education” program.

First grade contributed the most coupons. They brought in 1,235 coupons. For their efforts at .10 per coupon, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School was awarded $123.50.  The remaining grades contributed the following amounts of coupons: Kindergarten (425), 2nd grade (548) 3rd grade (274), 4th grade (611), 5th grade (257) and 6th grade (431) which resulted in an award of $254.60. Collectively, the school was awarded $795.50.10. The funds will be used to fulfill some of our technology needs.

Thank you for your participation in this worthy fundraiser.  Please note the collection of Box Tops for Education coupons is an on-going effort so please continue to send them to school.
